Start with the item you are moving. Sofas and armchairs, beds, tables and mattresses have different handling needs. For several pieces, tell us the full list rather than booking a single-item service.

The details that make a collection go smoothly

• Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging and any parts that cannot be removed.
• Tell us whether it is assembled, flat-packed or in separate sections. Include the number of packages.
• Check access at both addresses: stairs, lifts, narrow doors, parking restrictions and the distance from the vehicle.
• Confirm that the seller can release the item and share collection contact details. Do not rely on an order confirmation alone.

Protect your furniture before collection

Protect corners, upholstery and exposed surfaces. Secure drawers and removable parts, and label the pieces that belong together. Agree responsibility for packaging with the seller before collection. If you need help with a fragile or awkward piece, contact us before booking.

Several rooms or a larger load?

For a larger consignment, ask about a full van load. If a retailer only delivers to a mainland address, our UK forwarding service may help with the onward journey.
